Ask Willie
A search engine assignment for a parallel computing course, built on instructor starter code. It loads 686 Wikipedia articles about programming languages, scores how important each page is from the link graph, scores how well each page matches your query, normalizes both, and prints the ten best pages ranked by the harmonic mean of the two. The graded work was filling in the ranking, matching, and ordering functions, with the expensive parts run on Scala parallel collections.
Attention: Coursework built on instructor starter code, and every commit in the repo is Ben Smith's. It is a command-line program, so there is nothing to click through here.
